A 33-year-old man was booked Saturday for suspicion of felony child abuse causing physical harm, domestic battery with strangulation and resisting, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office report.

Thomas Raymond Carrillo was taken into custody at 8:03 p.m. after Carson City Sheriff's Office dispatch was alerted by a juvenile that her father was hitting her mother at an East John Street apartment.

Deputies arrived and saw the juvenile female standing at the door crying and pointing inside. Deputies entered the residence and saw the suspect sitting on the stomach of the female victim, holding her arms down and yelling at her.

A Carson City deputy grabbed the man and moved him away. Another officer attempted to put the man's arm behind his back. The man held onto his shirt, not allowing the officer to move his arm behind him. He was given commands to give the deputy his arm. The man was tasered and placed in handcuffs, according to the report.

Deputies spoke with the female victim, who identified herself as the man's ex-girlfriend and stated they have had a child together. She stated she went to visit the man when an argument began and that the man had been drinking. The man became upset, and began choking the woman to the point where she lost consciousness, the report states.

When she awoke, she said she the saw the man yelling at the children. She attempted to get the man to leave and that's when he began to punch the left side of her head, causing her to fall the ground. He allegedly began hitting her again, the report states. Officers observed red marks and bruising around the victim's throat and bruising and redness on the left side of her face.

Deputies spoke with the juvenile who called 911. The juvenile stated the man struck the left side of her face. Deputies noticed visible marks on the juvenile's face, the report states. Bail: $40,000.

In other arrests:
— A 31-year-old Carson City woman, Meagan Ashlei Thomas, was arrested Friday for suspicion of felony grand larceny. According to the booking report, she allegedly attempted to steal $1,542.66 in merchandise from Walmart. She was stopped by the store's asset protection officer after allegedly filling two shopping carts with merchandise and attempting to leave without paying for the items. Bail: $10,000.

— A 38-year-old man was arrest Sunday for suspicion of trespassing and threats, both misdemeanor offenses. According to the booking report, the man, who had been trespassed from a grocery store on Highway 50 East, was on the property and had made a threat to hurt the reporting party saying he was going to cut him up, the report states. Bail: $924.

— a 25-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Friday for suspicion of DUI and tail lamp violation. Bail: $1,209.

— A 42-year-old man, Mark Duncan, was arrested for an outside agency warrant, failure to comply issued out of Reno Township Court. Bail: $10,000.

— A 49-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Monday for suspicion of second DUI. According to the booking report, a deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Robinson Street and Carson Street because the vehicle did not have a rear registration plate.

The deputy advised the man of the stop and asked for his driver's license, registration and insurance. The officer observed the man had red watery eyes, was slurring his words and that there was a mild odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle.

The officer asked if he would participate in standardized field sobriety tests. He agreed and showed signs of impairment. He provided a preliminary breath test of .124 and was arrested. According to the arrest report, he had pled guilty of DUI in April 2022. He was booked for suspicion of second DUI. Bail: $2,500.

— Two people were arrested early Monday for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and other offenses, according to a CCSO booking report.

John Olvera, 20, and Brianna Racine, 22, were arrested for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance. Olvera was also booked for suspicion of providing false identification to avoid prosecution, a felony, and two counts misdemeanor violation of bail conditions and misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Racine was also booked for misdemeanor two counts contributing to a delinquency of a minor, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Total bail amount listed for Olvera: $14,137. Total bail amount listed for Racine: $4,911.
