Michael Overby: Oklahoma man who asked stripper if he can have Sex with her 2-Year-Old Daughter arrested

CLEVELAND COUNTY, OKLAHOMA: Michael Jon Overby, an Oklahoma man, was arrested for allegedly soliciting sex with a two-year-old girl and violating the Oklahoma Internet Crimes Act.

Overby is now facing one count of lewd or indecent proposals or acts towards a child and one count of access to a computer with unlawful intent after the toddler's mother reported him to the authorities, according to the Oklahoma City Police Department.

Overby met the toddler's mother at Red Dog Saloon

Overby was reported to the police by a dancer whom he reportedly met at the Red Dog Saloon. He then texted her online on Sunday, March 12, asking if she would allow him to have sex with her two-year-old daughter, according to court documents obtained by FOX 25. Four days later, on Thursday, March 16, the woman reported Overby and the text message to the Cleveland County district attorney's office. The police then asked the woman to text the suspect again, asking to meet up in person.

Overby is being held on $200,000 bond

"I have been thinking about it. You are not going to do anything to physically hurt her," the woman wrote in the text. The 32-year-old responded by saying he would have sex with the toddler at his apartment and even gave the woman his address. The authorities then arrested him at his apartment in Cleveland County. As of now, Overby is being held in the Oklahoma County Detention Center on a $200,000 bond.

The Oklahoma Police Department tweeted about the arrest of Overby. "On March 12, we were contacted by the Cleveland Co DA's Office about an individual attempting to solicit sex w/a toddler. Investigators retrieved information sent to the reporting party from 32-year-old Michael Jon Overby. He was booked on March 20 and held on $200,000 bail."

"They had come across some information and it was credible," said an OKC police MSGT, Gary Knight, in a conversation with KTUL. "It was passed on to our detectives who began working the case", he added.

Sexual abuse of minors is increasing at a heavy pace. Statistics show that at least 120 million girls under the age of 20—about 1 in 10—have been forced to engage in sex or perform other sexual acts, although the actual figure is likely much higher. Females exposed to child sexual abuse are at a 2–13 times increased risk of sexual violence, victimization in adulthood.
