HUDSON, N.Y. — A Dutchess County resident who practices pediatric and adolescent medicine in Hudson and Catskill is facing multiple charges in connection with the alleged sexual abuse of children, authorities said Tuesday.

Ibrahim Rabadi, 63, of Red Hook, was arrested by Hudson police on a sealed indictment and arraigned in Columbia County County Court before Judge Richard M. Koweek, Columbia County District Attorney Paul Czajka and Hudson Police Chief L. Edward Moore said. The DA’s Office requested that the court issue an order of protection barring Rabadi from having contact with the alleged victims and anyone under 18.

The incidents are alleged to have occurred between 2018 and 2021 at the defendant’s office at 98 Green St. in Hudson where he specializes in pediatric and adolescent medicine. He also has a practice at 35 Jefferson Ave. in Catskill. The investigation began after two female victims reported separate incidents to police, independent of one another, according to a press release.

The ages of Rabadi’s accusers were not released.

Rabadi, a medical doctor, was charged with the felony of course of sexual conduct against a child, and the misdemeanors of forcible touching (two counts), sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child (two counts). If convicted he would face a maximum of seven years in prison.

Hudson police are requesting anyone who believes they may have information relative to these or similar allegations to contact detectives at (518) 828-3388. Law enforcement will keep all such calls confidential. Hudson police detectives, led by Detective Sgt. Jason Finn, investigated the case, the DA’s office said.

Assistant District Attorneys Joyce Crawford and Krista Kline are prosecuting the case. Rabadi is represented by attorney John Pappalardo.

The DA expressed gratitude to the counselors of the Child Advocacy Center of Columbia-Greene Counties for their assistance in this and all such investigations.

Rabadi was not in custody as of Tuesday afternoon. Additional information was not immediately available.
